Credit Assessment Vice President

A well-known Japanese bank is looking for a Vice President or Assistant Vice President to join the Credit Assessment Department at their Amsterdam office.
This position will be responsible for overseeing the reviews and assessment of credit applications, reviewing and monitoring the loan and derivatives portfolio to maintain a balanced and quality driven asset base.
Ideal candidates should have good credit analysis and research skills ideally gained in a mainstream-banking environment.
Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese skill will be advantageous.

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour working week
SALARY: €85-102k, DOE, including 13th month bonus and holiday allowance

LOCATION: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Vice President Main Responsibilities:
• The review and assessment of new and increased credit facilities and renewal of existing
lines of finance to customers in line with bank policy
• Monitoring the existing portfolio on a forward-looking basis and taking action where
necessary in response to adverse developments so as to protect their position and
ensure the exposure book remains of the highest quality

Vice President Ideal Candidate:
• Good credit analysis and research skills ideally gained in a mainstream-banking
environment
• Experience of lending in a Corporate Finance context
• Additional lending experience including Project/Infrastructure Finance and Leverage Finance is an advantage
• Good oral and written communication / presentation skills
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
• Computer literate on Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable (useful but not essential):
• Degree educated with an ability to learn quickly
• Previous formal credit control experience or some form of formal credit and / or
accountancy training
• Knowledge of European legal systems and insolvency law
• Derivatives product experience in a credit risk context
• Knowledge of Japanese language
• Knowledge of Rating Agency’s methodologies
